Nape Mojapelo (47) holds a Master’s degree in Engineering (Mining) from Witwatersrand University, a graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering (Wits), a post graduate degree from School of Mines in Paris [France] as well as various diplomas in Mine Surveying , and Strategic Leadership.
He worked as Chief Inspector of Mines at DMR responsible for Mine Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Medicine. He was also Director of Mine Surveying within South Africa after a lengthy stint as Director General for Uramin in Central African Republic responsible for Mining and New Business until the company was sold to AREVA for 2.5 billion US dollars.
He served on various boards as chairperson of the Mine Qualification Authority and Mine Health and Safety Council, chairing of ETQA committee, chairing the HIV/AIDS committee in the mining industry. Currently he is chairperson of African Wilddogs Investments as well as Executive Director and board member of Afrilink Investcorp (PTY) Ltd.
